2AF had decided our epidermis is more important than Air Force Heritage

The General that's incharge of us at the pentagon level made an executive decision that we'll be able to wear nomex ACU's!
That's super news. The Air Force is having its perpetual identity crisis and struggling to find it's heritage...this is most visible by uniform changes in the last few years. Both the Army and Marines have created new uniforms. The Air Force has done the same. The Army uniform (ACU) was designed for soldiers by soldiers. Its a very smart and utilitarian uniform that works very well. The ACU is constantly evolving and is now nomex to mitigate flashburns.
The Air Force's Uniform (ABU) is great if your in an office. But if you're in the field, the ACU is far superior. But since we're in the Air Force, we are required to wear the ABU.
The ABU is not nomex, its not as comfortable when wearing body armor, there are little pocket on the side of the ACU legs that are perfect for an M-4 magazine, but same pocket on the ABU will not hold a mag, it will hold a stapler, but not a mag.
The gist is, after lots of complaing because we're with the Army, we're able to wear the ACUs vs ABUs!!! We're one of a kind
Oh yeah, and were getting IOTV's today, which is the latest and greatest body armor :)
